Our Church community

Welcome to Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish Website. On behalf of our entire parish community may I wish you God's blessings in 2012.
We are a parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey, serving almost 2500 families in the borough of Middlesex.
Our church is named for Our Lady of Mount Virgin Cathedral near Avellino, Italy, and was brought into being through the generosity of Luigi & Filomena Curcio, who in 1924 donated the property and promised to provide the altar and statues if a church could be built in Middlesex and named for the beautiful church they remembered in Italy. The bishop happily granted this request.
The new, much larger church was completed in 1971 and is home to our liturgical worship, devotions and many activities. We believe that great spiritual strength fills the people of this parish because our parishioners freely and generously share their time, talent and treasure as we live and proclaim the presence of Jesus Christ each day.
We invite visitors to this website to join us in prayer, meet parishioners and, hopefully, to become better acquainted with our Parish Family.

Sincerely in our Lord, Jesus Christ,  Rev. Patrick J. Kuffner, Pastor

Pictures of the Palm Sunday CHILDREN'S LITURGY can be seen in hte vestibule of the church.  Thank you to our "Children's Liturgy" committee for making this beautiful and prayerful ministry possible.  Parents who want to be part of the "Children's Liturgy" committee can call the parish office to volunteer.

Click the "Gifts and Memorials" icon at the left for information about making a special gift to OLMV Parish.

Thank you to our parishioners who have already supported the OLMV Meditation Garden and Remembrance Walkway Campaign.  One granite marker in front of evergreen bushes are still available.  4" x 8" and 8" by 8" Bricks continue to be available.  The next order will be placed in the spring of 2011.  See Karen or Father Pat in the Parish Office to place an order.

The Meditation Garden and Remembrance Walkway is a beautiful prayer space in our parish.  We thank Frank Parillo and the Members of our GARDEN COMMITTEE for their hard work over so many months.  Wneh you walk along Harris Avenue, take a moment to stop and pray at the Garden and Walkway.  New bricks have been ordered and, hopefully, will be placed in the Gaden in early October.  The Statue of Saint Francis has also been ordered and will be pl;aced next to the Garden on the  Rectory side, along with two benches.   If you havent done so, consider purchasing a brick.  It is beautiful way to memorialize a loved one or a special occasion, and your purchase supports our parish.
